Self-care: Prioritising ‘You Time’
Amongst the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to neglect your ‘you time’. Whether you’re giving your time to your work, partner, children, friends or family members – more often than not, we leave ourselves last on the list.
Everyone deserves some time on their own and the more you take care of yourself, the more it will benefit everyone and everything else in your life. We share some of our top tips for prioritising your ‘you time’.
 

Scheduled self-care

Whether it’s 10 minutes in the afternoon or half an hour in the evening, arranging some ‘you time’ is so important. You would schedule in calendar events at work or with friends and family, so why not schedule in some time for you? Spending and enjoying time alone gives you the opportunity to reconnect with your inner self and recharge – leaving you refreshed, calmer and ready to face the rest of the day.
 

Unplug from technology

Technology is all around us and at times, it can be all-encompassing. Whether it’s the current inundation of news, work emails or your social media notifications, it can be difficult to mentally switch off when technology is switched on. When you take some time for yourself, turn all your electrical devices off and enjoy the calm – everything will still be there when you switch them on again. We’ve all heard of the saying turn it off and back on again? It’s exactly the same for you.

Indulge your relaxations

It could be a relaxing bath, a short walk around your local area or settling down with a good book, but making time to do something that you enjoy can help keep your mind, body and soul healthy. Usually, it’s the small things that make a big difference.
